Here at Shapedays the team has gone to great lengths to implement a raft of new coronavirus precautions for all facets of our holiday program. In fact, a fitness retreat with us is one of the best ways to break out of a lockdown slump and bring back some zing!
As the owner/operator, I wanted to touch base and reassure you about the new procedures and steps we have taken for safeguarding your holiday.
If you’re considering a Shapedays getaway, the following information and precautions that we have taken may be of interest. By all means, don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We want to reassure you that, amongst other measures, we have robust cleaning policies in place and that we are keeping abreast of all our responsibilities to staff and guests.
It is, of course, reassuring to know that vaccinations will soon be available. However, we are confident that our policies will help reassure guests staying with us, irrespective of the virus.
So, what have we done to encourage the safety of our team and our guests?
Please contact me with any questions you might have, or if you’re after further detail. It is of the utmost importance to me that our procedures remain completely transparent and that our clients and team are reassured by the steps we are taking.
Shapedays retains direct control of any booking deposits and is therefore able to refund in full should guests fall ill before the holiday commences. If you test positive for COVID-19 72 hours before the retreat is due to commence, we will refund 100 per cent of all monies paid. This applies to COVID-19, however, our team is more than reasonable and understanding of other unforeseen circumstances. If you find yourself for whatever reason unable to participate, contact us and let’s sort something out that’s fair for all.
The Canary Islands have maintained one of the lowest epidemiological indices of COVID-19 in Europe, and the lowest in Spain. It’s important to remember that geographically speaking, the Canary Islands are 2,000km+ away from mainland Spain. All those entering the Canary Islands are required to undertake a PCR Test 72-hours before arrival. This is in effort to minimise any chance of the virus entering the islands. Visit Hello Canary Islands for more information about Government procedures, airline requirements and general pandemic details.
Research suggests that coronavirus is stronger and more prevalent in colder months. This is good news for anyone in Fuerteventura. Located just 52 nautical miles off the coast of North Africa, this area enjoys near weather perfection year-round. In the depths of winter the average temperature is around 19 degrees Celsius, whilst summer warms up to an average of mid twenties.
A key coronavirus precaution is of course to PCR test all members of our team 72 hours before the first guest arrives. It goes without saying that if anyone were to test positive, they would not participate in the retreat. In such circumstances, we have access to equally skilled, experienced and fabulous professionals who can step in at short notice. You will always be in the hands of responsible health and well-being experts.
From the moment we collect you at the airport in our valet-clean car, there is no need for you to have contact with anyone other than fellow guests and our team. We provide for your every fitness retreat need. Trust us when we say you just won’t want to leave the beautiful sanctuary of our villa and surrounds – it is pure bliss! When we exercise we’re in the great outdoors, and very removed from contact with others. We’re outside inhaling all that incredibly healthy salty sea air and surrounded by the natural beauty of the Canary Islands.
The maximum number of Shapeday guests at any one time is four people. Each bedroom (three doubles, two of which we can make into twins, and one twin) have en suites and all the shared areas are spacious and naturally well ventilated.
We conduct professional deep cleaning after every visit, and then maintain regular spot cleaning until the next group arrives. When guests are staying in the villa, we conduct daily cleaning every morning. The kitchen and every en suite contains soaps, and hand sanitiser is freely available in the villa as well as our vehicle. Daily cleaning procedures extend to all equipment used during the holiday – yoga mats, bikes, massage tables, etc.
If you have any questions about our procedures, the current situation in Fuerteventura, or anything at all, contact us. Absolutely we appreciate that it has been difficult to plan holidays (and indeed life in general) during this global pandemic. We are, however, keen to help your getaway become a reality. Most of all, we want to help you unwind from this challenging experience and recharge.
-Yours sincerely, Ant from Shapedays
